Attorneys practicing in Bankruptcy Law are required to identify themselves as a Debt Relief Agency according to the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention & Consumer Protection Act of 2005.

It defines a debt relief agency as any person(s) providing bankruptcy assistance, or is a bankruptcy petition preparer, providing legal representation.
